Overview
 
The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce is looking for a bright, thorough, and motivated individual interested in an engaging, challenging, and rewarding opportunity. This role will be responsible for attracting and retaining members and generating sponsorship revenue through effective sales strategies. The Membership Development Manager position is an independent contractor arrangement for the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and compensation is based on commissioned sales. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a dynamic and growing non-profit organization while interacting with Town, business, and community leaders.
 
Nature and Extent of Responsibilities
 
  1. Prospecting for new members, developing new business, targeting key prospects and retaining Chamber members. Leads provided by current members, trade publications, area associations, internet/newspaper/journal articles, networking events (area events and Chamber events), or cold-calling.
  2. Develop and maintain an ever growing sales pipeline.
  3. Monitor and track sales plan to ensure sales quota is met or exceeded. Maintain current database and provide accurate sales reporting, as required.
  4. Keep abreast of products, market conditions and competitive activities.
  5. Present and discuss the organization in a way that conveys an image of quality, integrity and fulfillment of customer needs.
  6. Maintain productive relationship with current members.
  7. Work under minimum supervision.
  8. Work closely with Operations Manager to ensure accurate membership application data and accurate sponsorship/trade application data.
  9. Maintain a professional relationship with Chamber staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers.
 
Desired Qualifications
Three+ years of outside business to business sales experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Product Suite required.  Prior experience with a relational or customer database and project management software helpful. Proven ability to prospect, negotiate and close deals. Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure focus on value-added sales activities. Successful candidates will demonstrate team spirit, commitment, flexibility, outstanding service attitude and work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.  Valid driver license required.
 
Compensation
The Membership Development Manager will target and focus on new membership income and other non-dues sponsorship as appropriate.   Commission will be paid based on actual cash membership sales received by the Chamber. The Membership Development Manager will be reimbursed for vehicle mileage at the federally determined rate upon satisfactory completion and submission of the Mileage reimbursement form. It will be the Membership Development Manager’s responsibility to provide use of any computer or cell phone equipment for the purpose of making sales calls and/or presentations.
